The visit of Montepulciano will bring you to the main square Piazza Grande, set at the highest point, dominated by the great tower and the Gothic façade of the Palazzo Comunale. From the top of the tower you can see as far as Radicofani, the Val d’Orcia and the Lake Trasimeno. The square is lined with the Cathedral and the Town Hall. There are also many restaurants and cafes and old cellars you can visit and have a wine tasting in.
Pienza is very close to Montepulciano, only 15/20 minutes drive. Along the way you can visit a cheese factory and have the chance to taste the famous ” Pecorino ” from Pienza.
