Description

Start your experience with early priority access to the Uffizi Gallery, one of the world’s most iconic art collections and a true jewel of Florence. Walk through grand halls filled with timeless works by Renaissance legends like Leonardo da Vinci, Botticelli and Michelangelo. Take your time and enjoy two full hours surrounded by beauty before continuing to the next highlight of your visit.

Beyond its famous paintings, the Uffizi also holds an extraordinary treasure of ancient sculptures that testify to the Medici family’s passion for classical antiquity. After the restoration of the Hall of Ancient Marbles on the second floor, the Gallery continues to honor its vision of finding the future in the ancient world. This approach places the Uffizi among the greatest archaeological collections in Europe, standing alongside Rome’s Capitoline Museums.

After exploring the masterpieces of painting and sculpture, your visit becomes truly unique with exclusive timed-entry to the Vasari Corridor. This elevated passageway, designed by Giorgio Vasari for Cosimo I de’ Medici, weaves its way through the heart of Florence connecting Palazzo Vecchio, the Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio and Pitti Palace. Today this secret route is even more fascinating thanks to the return of more than fifty imperial Roman busts that now line the stretch over Ponte Vecchio.

Picture yourself walking through this hidden passage surrounded by marble portraits of Cicero, emperors like Augustus, Antoninus Pius and Commodus, and empresses such as Sabina and Faustina. These sculptures were carefully chosen in the eighteenth century by the Uffizi’s vice-director Luigi Lanzi to expand the Medici collection. Removed in the nineties to restore the museum’s original layout, they now return to public view in a setting that recreates the splendor of the grand ducal era and places these Roman portraits alongside the finest European collections.

Walking the Vasari Corridor is much more than crossing a historical passage. It is a journey into the private world of the Medici family, revealing their power and vision through an immersive experience.
