Description

The Medici Chapels are a monumental complex built inside the San Lorenzo church in Florence between the 16th and the 17th century. They are the resting place of the Medici family and were turned into a museum in 1869. Take this private tour if you want to have access to the magnificent architecture and breathtaking sculptures of the Medici Chapels with a private guide that will explain the history of the Medici Family and will then proceed to describe with great expertise the unique works of art kept inside.

The highlights of this tour are the Cappella dei Principi, an imposing funerary chapel embellished with mosaics and frescoes, the Cripta Lorenese, which guards the tombs of some of the most famous Medicis like Cosimo il Vecchio, Lorenzo il Magnifico e Cosimo I, and the Sagrestia Nuova, designed by Michelangelo himself, and containing some of the most famous and beautiful sculptures from the artist: "L'Aurora" and "Il Crepuscolo".
