Giardino delle Rose 

Giardino delle Rose, or the rose garden, is a beautiful area located just below Piazzale Michelangelo with magnificent views and gorgeous flowers. The garden is home to about 400 different kinds of roses as well as a variety of other plants and vegetation, making it an incredibly unique location. Created in 1865 by Giuseppe Poggi, the garden has long been a Florentine staple, and is the perfect spot for romantic walks, a relaxing afternoon, or just some sight-seeing. 

Giardino dell’Iris

Also located by the Piazzale Michelangelo, the Iris Garden is open from the 25 of April through the 20 of May.  The garden was originally designed and opened in 1957, and has grown through the help of donations since then. The emblem of Florence is a red Iris, which is one of the main reasons that the garden is so important to the local Florentines. Additionally, the area is a gorgeous place where many go to relax and take in the beauty of the city’s flowers. 

Gli Orti del Parnaso 

Located up on the Florentine hills, the Orti del Parnaso is home to a massive sculpture of a snake-lizard, as well as tons of lucious green vegetation.
